There are many who claim that aluminum bottles will cool beverages faster than glass and will also stay cooler longer. There is an interesting study by the Department of Engineering Science at Loyola College in Maryland that seems to provide empirical evidence for the first claim. So it looks like aluminum does make your beer chill faster.
Does your beer stay cooler longer in an aluminum bottle or a glass bottle? The study seems to conclude that they are about the same in terms of keeping the beer cool.
I can almost imagine the commercial with people arguing whether it “chills faster” or “chills longer” :) Now if they could make small aluminum beer bottles like those small aluminum cans, then the beer would chill faster and stay cold in your hand, if only because you’d finish the beer faster . . .
